• Referrals are free of charge. Your initial phone consultation with a Referral Service attorney will be free. When you discuss your legal issue, the attorney will determine if they can proceed with your case.
• Our attorneys DO NOT provide free services but may offer reduced rates (sliding scale, flat discounts, free consultations, contingency fees) based on their caseload and personal discretion.
• Our attorneys are in private practice, speak over 13 languages combined, and practice several areas of law: bankruptcy, criminal defense, personal injury, family law, discrimination, immigration, accidents, tenant/landlord disputes, employment, disability, and many others.
• All Referral Service Attorneys are in good standing and are a part of the Referral Service because of their commitment to providing reasonable rates. Our attorneys are registered with the Lawyer Referral Service in the areas of law they practice, and referrals are made on a rotating basis within those areas. The majority of LRS attorneys are in the Greater Boston area, and we seek to make referrals based on your geographic needs.

More About our Lawyer Referral Service

As a project of the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Lawyers Guild, the Lawyer Referral Service is a non-profit organization that seeks to provide low and moderate-income Massachusetts’ residents with competent legal services at reasonable rates.

Our attorneys are in private practice and are members of the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Lawyers Guild. Our attorneys speak over 13 languages combined and practice bankruptcy, criminal defense, personal injury, divorce, discrimination, immigration, accidents, tenants, employment, disability, and other areas of law.

All of the attorneys are in good standing and are a part of Referral Service because of their commitment to providing reasonable rates. Our attorneys are registered with the Lawyer Referral Service in the areas of law they practice, and referrals are made on a rotating basis within those areas.
